Oplontis is a Roman site in Campania, Italy. It was a villa, for a time the home of Poppea, near Pompeii, and was covered in ash and lava when Versuvius errupted in AD79. It is therefore remarkably well preserved, and many of the splendid wall paintings survive intact. Click to enlarge.
